TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
Please Read Acts 24
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
DEVOTIONAL
by Elder Chris Beltran
Do you truly believe in Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose”? How do we view problems, trials, and difficult circumstances?
Nothing happens by chance. God is sovereign, and nothing catches Him by surprise, even accidents, changes in weather, and more. He planned everything in our lives to every minute detail. Knowing this, we can choose to look at these situations as opportunities instead of hindrances.
Paul viewed every situation and trial as an opportunity for God. When Paul was beaten, whipped, and imprisoned, we may think that he had failed miserably. Yet, he led the jailer and his family to the Lord. In the midst of his accusers and angry mob, he did not hesitate to share about the love of Christ.
Again, like the Apostle Paul, we have an opportunity to love and trust God and serve Him joyfully with all our hearts despite the many problems we will be facing. We may have past failures and mistakes, but please do not dwell on them. Every new day brings a new opportunity to live for the Lord. Remember, Philippians 3:13: “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead.”
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, Acts 24 and Romans 8:28 remind us of Your sovereign plan. Like Paul, help us trust in You during challenges. May our lives reflect Your transformative power. Give us wisdom to see Your purpose in all things. Thank you for these assurances. In Jesus’ name, amen.
