TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

DEVOTIONAL

by Elder Chris Beltran

He was a humble workman, with the tools with which he wrought,

And he built a common stable, or so it was, he thought!

And he fashioned there a manger,

Where the cattle could be fed,

Never thinking that the Savior,

Would pillow there His head.

He had only built a stable,

With a manger in the stall,

Yet it cradled there the Christ-child,

Who is King & Lord of all!

So although our task be humble,

Let us work each day with care;

For we may not know God’s purpose,

Or why He places us there.

– “The Unknown Workman” by Henry Know –

Everything we do is significant in the eyes of God. Nobody is too small for Him. If we just work for the sake of work, we will always feel that something is lacking. However, when we work with the mindset of investing in God’s kingdom, then we have a glimpse of divine joy even if we are still in this world.

Wherever God has placed us is not an accident. Share the gospel. Make disciples of people in your influence; bring them to a small group who will also love the Lord and know the purpose of their lives.

The builder of the stable? Nobody knows who he is. It may be routine work, but his work indeed is significant. And you know what? Your job is valuable too.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we understand that every task, no matter how small, can be significant when done for Your kingdom. May we work with the mindset of investing in Your purpose and finding divine joy in our daily lives. Lord, we believe our placement in this world is not by accident. We are here to share the gospel and make disciples. Help us recognize the value in our roles and seize every opportunity to serve You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
