TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:7–8

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6

DEVOTIONAL

by Elder Chris Beltran

With all the chaos that is happening, we might have asked questions like: “What’s happening in the world?” What’s right before is now considered wrong, and what’s wrong before is now correct!

It started when the American activist complained that she didn’t want prayers in the schools, and everyone said, “ok.” A top elected government official said as long as officials do their job excellently—there are peace and order, the economy is good—what they do in private doesn’t matter. And we said, “ok.” We agreed on many things, and now, look at the world!

The Bible says it very clearly, we reap what we sow. If we sow violence, we reap violence. If we sow material riches alone, we reap material riches. If we sow lies and deception, we reap distrust. On the other hand, if we sow righteousness, we reap the rewards in heaven. If we sow in good soil, we can reap a great harvest.

With what is happening in our world today, where right becomes wrong and wrong becomes right, we all need to be teaching God’s eternal Word to our families—grow deeper in our walk with the Lord and not just be hearers of the Word but be doers of it. We are in the world, but we are not of the world.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, amidst the chaos and confusion in the world, we turn to You for guidance. Your Word reminds us that we reap what we sow. Help us plant seeds of righteousness, love, and truth. May our actions and words reflect Your eternal Word. Teach us to live out Your truths, to be a light in the darkness, and to remain steadfast in our faith. May Your love and grace shine through us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
