TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
Deuteronomy 5:15
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:13
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:39

DEVOTIONAL
by Stephanie Grace Reloj
In our desire to be available and do something meaningful in this life, we forget that we, too, are our God’s precious children. Although they are not entirely new, we hear many cases of compassion fatigue, zoom fatigue, and burnout.
As we end this year, may we once again find rest in our most powerful and sovereign God. Let us refocus on knowing Him and seeking His presence in our lives. May we once again rely on His saving grace and dedicate at least a day in our week to replenish ourselves physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. I hope and pray that we can remember that we are no more slaves of this world because we are children of a great and Almighty God!
Yes, as Christ believers, we are not immune from different sicknesses, but if we genuinely see more clearly than the people before us, may we learn not just to number our days (Psalm 90:12) but also to balance our busyness with the rest that God asked us to observe. We are ending this year, and we will seek more adventures in the next; maybe dream of doing more and more for God’s glory. However, may His love and wisdom guide us into entering a new chapter where we also take care of ourselves, as the second great command states, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, guide us to find rest in You. May we prioritize self-care as we serve others, remembering we are Your cherished children. Grant us wisdom to balance our pursuits with the rest You’ve ordained. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
