TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
DEVOTIONAL
by Elder Chris Beltran
As we end the year, let us look back and don’t waste the experiences, whether pleasant or not; learn and grow from them. Now, ask these questions so we can reflect:
Relationships: How will I further add value to my life and my family this year? How can I make relationships richer, deeper, more fun, more intimate, and more loving?
Self-growth: What would I like to change and eliminate in my daily routine this year to grow further?
Health: What will I do to improve my health further? How will I commit to having better physical fitness and wellness?
Intellect: How will I improve this year? What will I be reading? What do I need to learn? What skills do I need to master?
Spirituality: What will I commit to growing in my relationship with the Lord? How can I love my neighbor better? In what areas of my giftedness will I be ready to offer Him in the church and the community?
In addition, remember that the Lord desires to give us an abundant life, but the choices we often make are anything but going in that direction. Our lives become habitual and predictable so that it becomes non-exciting. The Lord has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-control, not a spirit of fear. You will never know the results until you try it. Be strong and courageous to try!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, as we close this year, guide us to learn and grow from our experiences. In relationships, self-growth, health, intellect, and spirituality inspire us to make choices that lead to abundant life. Empower us with Your spirit of power, love, and self-control, giving us strength and courage to embrace new possibilities. In Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.
