TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
Please read Ephesians 2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

DEVOTIONAL
by Rev. Dr. Nehemiah Sia
The Gospel is good news for all who believe in Christ, and the direct result of God’s amazing grace through faith is New Life in Christ. The old has gone, and the new has come. All our good works are filthy rags without Christ because it is in Christ that our good works are based on His righteousness and become beautiful. No amount of our own works can save us because it is only Christ’s finished Work on the cross that can guarantee our salvation, meaning we are transformed from death into true life and commitment to Him. The Lord guides us to live the Life in Him as we commit to walk in a manner worthy of our calling!
When we are humbled by Grace, we cannot boast of anything anymore because this Grace teaches us that God’s mercy extended to us has saved us from our sins, guilt, and shame. We are no longer slaves of sin, but now we are slaves of righteousness. God is faithful in finishing the work he has begun in us. Let us be faithful in accomplishing the tasks he has assigned to us, that we may bring glory to Him, who alone saved us so we can do good works and be a blessing to others. May His grace continue to mold us to become His workmanship created in Him to do good works by His grace. May we be humble each day so that we can live holy lives without pride!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to be humble and holy by faith. Because by Your grace, we are saved from sin, and we can live a good life producing good fruits of faith, and that is our work. Thank You for giving us New Life in You with all the different gifts that we can use for Your glory alone. Lord, help us each day to have the strength to pursue the godly life. Thank you for giving us grace upon grace so we can mature in faith. In Your name, we pray, Amen.
