TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭65:8b‭-‬9‬

DEVOTIONAL

by Sandra Chua

When people are in love, they look different. You can feel them becoming more beautiful or more handsome. When we were younger, we’d tease our friends who were “in love” and look “in love,” saying that they were “blooming” like flowers.

My husband has a friend who sends him pictures of sunrise and sunset almost every day. He takes the pictures from their balcony. Amazingly,  from the same view, the pictures are never the same. Interestingly, they are all beautiful, and they never fail to squeeze a burst of praise from my heart for God who painted them.

Looking at the sunset or the sunrise shows me how God makes the dawn and the sunset feel. The beauty of the dusk and dawn portrays how they shout for joy. Through the resplendent display of colors, the heavens declare God’s glory. No wonder it is so beautiful!

How does God make you feel? Think about His love; it is everlasting; it is unfailing. Think about how faithful He is even when we fail. How are you impressed with God’s creation? Look around you. Look through a telescope. Look into a microscope. I am sure you will see God, and when you do, may your heart and soul shout for joy!

REFLECTION

How do we like the dawn and dusk shout for joy? Are we beautiful in other people’s sight? Does our countenance show how happy we are because we have a great and awesome God? Do we make the people around us burst into praise to God?

PRAYER

Our Everlasting Father, Creator of the ends of the Earth, we praise You for all the blessings You have showered upon us. We thank You for taking care of us. May we always exude the aroma of Christ in our daily lives. May our countenance, actions, and reactions always point people to You. May the joy in our hearts always be contagious, like the dawn and the sunset, so that those around us will end up praising You, in Jesus’ name, amen.
