A City Rising
Acts – A City Rising” is a powerful musical play produced and performed by the Youth Choir of Jubilee Evangelical Church. Set in the aftermath of Jesus Christ’s ascension, the story follows the transformative journeys of the apostles Peter and Paul as they spread the Gospel and help build the early Church. Through stirring music, heartfelt performances, and dynamic storytelling, Acts – A City Rising brings to life the passion, trials, and triumphs of the early Christian movement.
HISTORY
The Jubilee Evangelical Church Youth Choir was formed in 2015. It began with just eight young voices, eager to use their God-given talents to sing for the Lord. Since then, the Lord has graciously grown the ministry—not just in number, but also in passion, purpose, and reach.
Over the years, the JEC Youth Choir has been blessed with numerous opportunities to serve through the performing arts, from leading worship services to presenting full-length musical productions. We have sung in church events, school programs, outreach missions, and special celebrations—each performance a chance to glorify God and touch lives through music.
Today, we are around 30 strong—students from Grade 7 to college—joyfully singing for both Jubilee Evangelical Church and Jubilee Christian Academy. More than just a choir, we are a community committed to growing in faith, fellowship, and excellence as we continue to use our voices to honor the One who gave them.
MISSION
The Jubilee Evangelical Church Youth Choir exists to sing for the glory of God and to serve as a platform for musical excellence and spiritual growth among the youth.
MEMBERS/HOW TO JOIN
Teens ages 13-21 years old are all welcome to join. We are looking for youths that enjoy singing and using their talents to praise the Lord.
Students from Jubilee Christian Academy can audition through the school’s official channels, as participation in the choir counts toward their weekly club credits. However, the choir is open to all interested participants! To schedule an audition or get more details, please contact the choir director, sister Shanda Lim-Uy using the information below.
