TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
“Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things He has done for me.”
Psalm 103:2
DEVOTIONAL
by Danica Tiam-Lee
It is easy to become discontent with where we are or what we don’t have or get caught up with worries and fears of the future. Problems and heartaches can overwhelm us and cause us to feel that God has rejected us.
There’s a saying that goes: “Remember the days you prayed for what you have now.” Remember. This is beauty in remembering. A breakthrough? A career change? Healing of a loved one? Financial provision? Or daily grace and strength to get you through the hardest days of your life?
Sometimes we are so progress- and future-oriented that we fail to recall all that God has already done for us. May this be a reminder that He listens and answers our prayers no matter how big or small they may be. Sometimes His answer may not be what we want, but we can always trust that He works all things together for good. The same God who was faithful to answer your prayers then is faithful to do the same now and in the days to come.
REFLECTION
How has God shown His faithfulness to you this week? Or maybe this month or this year? Take some time to write it down one by one and praise Him for all that He has done.
PRAYER
Our heavenly Father, thank You because You are a very personal God. You know our whole being and everything that we’re going through. Lord, sorry if sometimes we tend to be forgetful beings. We doubt Your goodness at the height of fear and uncertainty, forgetting that You have answered our cry for help multiple times before. May we choose to remember Your goodness, God. May we never run out of reasons to sing Your praise. Thank You because You’re a good, good Father, and You remain faithful even on days when we are not. In Your Name, we pray, Amen.
