TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

“After this, the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need. And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared.”

Exodus 16:21

DEVOTIONAL

by Clarice Tiu and Gianne Chan

Just like the Israelites, the Lord calls us to surrender to Him. To find his grace enough for the day, and tomorrow will be another day. We should trust Him morning by morning to get just enough for today, for He will surely provide for tomorrow. He is in control, and He is sovereign.

We must recognize this always and remind ourselves that this life is not ours but His, and we live so that He may be glorified.

It is tough to trust the Lord small steps at a time and trust Him each and every day because we fear the future. We fear that something bad will happen and that we are not prepared enough for it. We keep on striving, worrying, and thinking in our heads about how to cope, and we have this heavy weight on our shoulders all the time, but we must simply trust morning by morning.

REFLECTION

Let’s ask and reflect: (1) Which aspect/s of my life do I find myself worrying about the most? (2) What are the hindrances that prevent me from trusting the Lord and surrendering to Him?

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of today, the gift of each day where we can live out our faith in You. Thank You, because each day we live out of faith, You too are faithful to us. Lord, You are sovereign above all; we pray to learn to surrender to You, wholly and unlimitedly. We pray for help for our unbelief, help our distrust and help our unwillingness to surrender to You fully. We want to give our all to You and ultimately live each moment through You, by You, and for You. May we live to give You glory, honor, praise, and love, in Christ’s name, amen.
