The official launch of JEC’s Singles Fellowship was done through an event entitled “Status: It’s (Not) Complicated”, with David Christian Chan as the guest speaker. He shared the highlights and lowlights of his singlehood, romantic relationships and married life. His life story is a testament of how the Lord can use the different seasons of our life and work it all together for good — and for His glory.
Our goal in this fellowship is to help minister to the specific real and felt needs of the young professionals and help them maximize their single years. Months from now, by God’s grace, we will be having a Single’s Retreat to help them connect with fellow young professionals. We will be tapping different speakers who will talk about timely topics such as dating, dealing with the opposite sex, relationship dos and don’ts, waiting for ‘the one’, moving on and etc. In this day and age where everything is online, we want to encourage, equip, and give them a space where they can meet other people, make new friends, and build a biblical community. After all, nothing beats face-to-face interactions if we want to build quality relationships.
