TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Please Read Acts 21:17–26

When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law. DEVOTIONAL

by Elder Chris Beltran

It is good to listen to feedback and even criticisms to evaluate whether our actions align with God’s will. As we focus on finishing something, we might have blind spots that others have noticed and have either lovingly or even critically informed us. Paul listened to the concern brought up by the church leaders, humbly planned and obeyed. We need feedback and wisdom from each other to help us keep growing in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord. Remain humble and teachable, and be open to feedback, whether true or not. If true, then we change for the better. If not, we can find ways to refute it, as the leaders did, but respectfully and politely.

As Christians, saying half-truths is tantamount to lying as there is an intention to deceive. Slandering, bearing false witness, exaggerations, spreading rumors, and fake news should not become part of any believers’ lives as we are commanded to pursue integrity, holiness, and righteousness. Think before we post or say something. Likewise, as with one body, the whole body will be affected if one part is hurting. So let us do our part to contribute to the overall health of the church body, be conscious, sensitive, and intentional in finding opportunities to help serve each other so we can be the church the Lord desires to dwell in.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, guide us in our faith journeys and decisions. Just as Paul sought wise counsel, help us stay open to guidance. May our actions reflect unity, humility, and faithfulness. Lord, grant us discernment to uphold traditions that honor You, while remaining open to necessary adaptations. In Jesus’ name, amen.
