TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
Please read Acts 27:27–44
On the fourteenth night we were still being driven across the Adriatic Sea, when about midnight the sailors sensed they were approaching land. They took soundings and found that the water was a hundred and twenty feet deep. A short time later they took soundings again and found it was ninety feet deep. Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight. In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow. Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.” So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it drift away.

DEVOTIONAL
by Elder Chris Beltran
Paul had already trusted God in every storm that came to his life from day one of his missionary journeys. And because of that, he was able to stand firm, with conviction and confidence that God would see them through this particular storm. Similarly, what are the valuable lessons to be learned and understood when we are in a storm?
- Storms of life can reveal what is truly important in our lives. What are the unnecessary things weighing us down that we need to throw overboard that keep us from reaching our purpose, to give glory to God alone?
- Storms of life reveal if Jesus is in our hearts as our Lord. God’s presence will give us the peace that transcends all understanding, even when there are winds and waves around us.
- Storms of life remind us that we are not in control and limited or finite; therefore, we need the Lord’s strength and wisdom to lead and guide us.
- Storms of life teach us to have genuine gratitude. Often, when situations are ok, we take things for granted. Learn to count our blessings and see what the Lord has done. The storms of life will truly reveal where our heart is, where our confidence lies, and where we focus our eyes on.
Learn to trust in God’s leading daily, take a small step of faith, trust God’s sovereignty, and gradually develop our faith.

Intervene in our storms, bringing calm to every situation. May we find strength in Your presence and be reminded that You are in control. Thank You, oh, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
