TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Psalm 103:2

DEVOTIONAL

by Janette Tanhuanco

It is easy to become discontent with where we are or what we don’t have or get caught up with worries and fears of the future. Problems and heartaches can overwhelm us and cause us to feel that God has rejected us.

There’s a saying that goes: “Remember the days you prayed for what you have now.” Remember. This is the beauty in remembering. A breakthrough? A career change? Healing of a loved one? Financial provision? Or daily grace and strength to get you through the hardest days of your life?

Sometimes we are so progress- and future-oriented that we fail to recall all that God has already done for us. May this be a reminder that He listens and answers our prayers no matter how big or small they may be. Sometimes His answer may not be what we want, but we can always trust that He works all things together for good. The same God who was faithful to answer your prayers then is faithful to do the same now and in the days to come.

How has God shown His faithfulness to you this week? Or maybe this month or this year? Take some time to write it down one by one and praise Him for all that He has done.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, in the midst of life’s challenges and worries, help us remember Your faithfulness and how You’ve answered our prayers. Give us hearts of gratitude as we reflect on Your blessings, both big and small. May we continue to trust Your unwavering love and faithfulness in the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
