TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
DEVOTIONAL
by Mrs. Helen Sia and Elder Chris Beltran
Looking back, these are some of Mrs. Sia’s realizations during the pandemic/lockdown:
While people were advised to maintain social distancing, the pandemic draws us closer to God and each other. I realized that:
- God strengthened our love and caring ministries. We found ways to reach out to each other through social media and prayers. The Lord gave us special grace as we learned how to maximize social media in our senior years.
- God has widened our prayer ministry and pastoral care. Though physical distancing is practiced, God brought us nearer to people’s hearts as we do prayer and counseling online.
- Our preaching, teaching, and translation ministries continue even online. We learned to do audio and video recording for worship, meetings, etc.
- We learned to wait patiently, trust God to provide for special needs, and guide our future. We take one day and one step at a time.
- This crisis made us experience God’s goodness through others by their generosity and love for His servants. May the Lord grant us His peace and strength during this time.
With the right perspective, there will always be an opportunity for discoveries in times of crisis, for expanding your present ministry, and even for growth. All things will work together for good, even events in a crisis, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we find solace in the truth that You work all things for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We are grateful for insights during the pandemic, showing us how we can draw closer to You and one another. May Your peace and strength be with us as we continue to see opportunities for growth, ministry expansion, and discoveries in the midst of crises. We trust in Your unwavering plan and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
