If you ask people why they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven, their usual answer is that of the accepted thinking of today. All religions teach the same thing and lead to the same destination; therefore, many reject the exclusive claim of Jesus that He is the only way, the truth, and the life that no one goes to the Father except to Him alone.

In the first place, why would you believe there is a heaven? Have we seen it? Someone must have told you about heaven that caused you to believe that there is. Is that person trustworthy?

Do all religions teach the same thing? If you really study each religion, you would find that they contradict each other, especially in salvation. Islam contradicts Buddhism. Jesus’ teachings contradict Hinduism. Judaism contradicts  Shintoism. Radicals insist that if you kill as many as possible, you will go to paradise with 10 virgins waiting for you. Either all of them are wrong, or one of them is right. As an intellectual person, do you really believe that all religions teach the same thing?

I’m convinced that going to heaven is not based on what my opinion is or what I should be doing but on the trustworthiness of the person saying it. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except to Him alone. This is a very exclusive claim. Read, study, and examine the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). If the evidence points to Christ as the only way, trust Him; if it does not, you would be a fool to trust Him. If the evidence points to His reliability, that Jesus died and rose from the dead, and He is the one who promises heaven to those who believe in Him, it would be your eternal regret not to trust in Him and His claim. 

No one is good enough to earn heaven. Only God is good. We have all sinned and fallen short of His requirements for heaven. However, God provided a way for us to be with Him. And that way is in Jesus Christ alone.

Jesus said, I am the way. Do you believe in Him? Open your hearts right now. God is giving us His precious gift of eternal life, and it can only be ours if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, repent of our sins, and believe that He is who He said He is. The only way, truth, and life.

PRAYER

Lord, I am opening my heart to You right now. Forgive me for my stubbornness; I have been believing the lies of the enemy. I accept Your gift of eternal life, and I believe that it is only through Jesus Christ, being the only way, the truth, and the life, that I have an assurance that I am Your child. Help me grow more intimate with you as I seek to know your will and purpose for me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
