TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL PASSAGE

Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!

DEVOTIONAL

by Dr. Nehemiah K. Sia

Christ’s teaching reminds us not to worry but to trust in the LORD because He is faithful in providing for you and for me. It simply says that those in the Kingdom of God are taken care of by God in terms of material things because not even Solomon comes close to how God makes all things beautiful in His time!

So when was the last time you worried about your life? Are you worried about your family? Are you worried about your studies? Are you worried about your business? Then you are the one that God is talking to right now, and that is to believe and have faith in Him that He will never leave you nor forsake you because He is the One who holds our lives together and provides for our every need. He will take care of you, brother and sister in Christ. Will you trust Him for all your needs? Will you trust Him for your future? Will you trust Him today for your salvation and redemption?

REFLECTION

I remember I used to worry about my life, God kept on reminding me not to worry but to believe in His goodness and grace in my life. I don’t deserve such love and goodness but the LORD gave me purpose and meaning that I can fully trust in Him. You see friends, trusting in the LORD is what makes life matters because the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart! Where is your heart today? Would you like to believe in Christ for your daily needs?

PRAYER

Our Heavenly Father, many times we worry about most of the things of life. Help us to trust in You. Forgive us for all our shortcomings and iniquities, help us to see that Your intentions for us are good. We are Your children and we are more valuable than the sparrows and You take care of us each day. Help us cast our burdens and anxious thoughts on You! In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray, Amen.
