And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

DEVOTIONAL

by Stephanie Reloj

Imagine learning to ride a bicycle for the first time. Most of us had a parent or a friend by our side, holding the seat, offering words of encouragement, and steadying us as we wobbled. Their presence was a source of comfort and confidence. Even when we doubted our ability to balance and pedal at the same time, knowing they were right there made all the difference. They didn’t let go until they were sure we could ride on our own, and even then, they stayed close, ready to help if we needed them.

The promise of God’s presence with His people is a thread that runs throughout the Bible. From the call of Abraham to the Great Commission, God assures His followers that they are never alone in their mission. This assurance is vividly captured in Matthew 28:16-20, where Jesus commissions His disciples to take the Gospel to all nations and promises to be with them always.

Like Abraham, we may not see the immediate fulfillment of God’s promises, but we can trust that His plans are being realized through our obedience. Our role in the Great Commission is a part of God’s larger plan to bless all nations. Besides, Jesus’ promise to be with us always is a source of great comfort. In moments of doubt or fear, we can remember that we are not alone. Jesus is with us, guiding and empowering us by His Spirit.

We know the task of making disciples of all nations can seem daunting, but we are called to embrace it with faith and courage. As we go forth, we can be confident that Jesus is working through us to reach those who need to hear the Gospel. And in our efforts to fulfill the Great Commission, we must seek the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit prepares hearts and opens doors, making our ministry effective and fruitful.

REFLECTION

Let us be encouraged by Jesus’ promise to be with us always. May we embrace our mission with confidence, knowing that the Spirit of Christ goes with us, preparing the way and empowering us to make disciples of all nations.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise to be with us always. Help us to trust in Your presence and rely on Your Spirit as we take the Gospel to all nations. Give us courage and strength in the face of challenges and doubts. Empower us to be faithful witnesses of Your love and truth. We are grateful that we are not alone in this mission. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.
