Let’s continue with the third and fourth of the 7 A’s given by Dr. Josh Mcdowell for developing a deeper relationship with your family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Expressing <\/span>appreciation<\/span><\/i> gives a sense of significance. Appreciation is a feeling or thought that you have said or done something that would add value to others. The sweetest of all sounds is praise. Showing appreciation gives people a sense of value and self-esteem, and often our children would become more receptive to your outlook and input.<\/span><\/p>\n

Availability<\/span><\/i> gives a sense of importance. How do you spell love? T-I-M-E. As much as possible, make yourself available to them. Your kids will receive it as: “I am important to my dad or mom.” Never be in a hurry. When they are older, they will never forget it and, hopefully, show you the same importance you have given them by being available to you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Being available doesn’t just mean being at home and doing your own things. Love means being available. “Available” means opening ourselves and initiating to having more meaningful encounters with our loved ones so we can feel the appreciation of each other.<\/span><\/p>\n

PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the lesson where Jesus welcomed children with open arms. Help us follow His example. We also pray for the wisdom to express appreciation and availability in our family relationships, recognizing the significance of these actions. May our words and time together convey love and importance. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n
